The Codes Centrale Journey
During the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), needs for Reference Data are often identified. One of the first questions is whether there is an external standard for the required reference data. That is, does some authority outside the enterprise maintain and offer the Reference Data set needed by the development team?
If this question cannot be answered, then the development team often has to try to create and maintain the Reference Data table themselves, and eventually find businesspeople to hand the maintenance over to. This is a huge effort, and naturally all concerned want to avoid it.
Codes Centrale aims to provide a platform where standard reference data sets maintained by external authorities can be found. At the same time we want to encourage the data community to offer their suggestions for adding more Reference Data tables to this inventory, and give feedback on their experience with the tables.
Beyond this, we aim to provide consulting services in the reference data space, based on our comprehensive set of intellectual property developed over the years. We also believe that our No-Code/Low-Code Inventory product can be an ultra-low cost solution for organizations that seek to govern and manage their reference data.

How Does It Work?
Codes Centrale is an inventory of externally maintained reference data standards. Users can search the inventory for what they need and visit the website of the authority providing the corresponding standard.
Users can also do the following:
Request Codes Centrale to add a new standard that is not in the inventory. The user fills in a simple form to make the request. Codes Centrale analysts will then research the proposed standard, gather the needed information for it, and add it to the inventory. The requesting user will be kept informed of progress.
Provide feedback on any standard in the inventory. Again, a simple form is used to submit the comment. Codes Centrale moderates the comments, and adds them to the corresponding standard. Again, the user is kept informed of progress.
